During his career, David has chaired several industry bodies and events. David has been in the banking industry for 35 years plus which has helped him develop a strong skillset and fostered his ability to truly understand what his clients need. David was the co-founder of Prestige Mortgages, a mortgage broking firm, and was previously the Managing Director of Mortgage Wisdom Pty Ltd, with a team of 40 brokers. In 2015, David formed Tax & Wealth Pty Ltd which is the final piece in the puzzle to offer a fully integrated Financial Service business.

Chris is one of Hartley Financials’ Senior Financial Planners. Chris has a long family history in Financial Planning, so it was a natural progression for Chris when he entered the Financial Services industry in 2008. Chris has extensive experience in the Financial Planning industry, with 11 years of his experience spent as a Financial Planner.

Wendy Bennett Lending Specialist
Wendy is a Lending specialist in the Hartley Financial Melbourne Team. Having started out in the banking and finance industry in 1975 assisting clients with their financial needs, Wendy branched out on her own in 1999 as a Lending Specialist where she has gone from strength to strength.
After being a Finance Broker for over 18 years; Wendy and Jean joined forces in 2017, to offer their clients a greater level of service. Wendy maintains a number of personal and financial relationships with clients who she serviced prior to beginning her own business ventures. Jean is a lending specialist in the Hartley Financial Melbourne operation. As a Lending Specialist, Jean has been assisting clients with their financial needs for over 30 years. To offer her clients greater support, Jean joined Wendy in 2017, to offer their clients a greater level of service.
Jean has previously worked as a Personal Banker and Branch Manager for NAB, before leaving to work for Destiny Financial Solutions where she specialised in arranging finance for investors who were starting out in the property market, through to those with much larger and complex portfolios of properties. Other areas that Jean has branched out to include, advising on SMSF loans (Self-Managed Super Funds loans) and vehicle and equipment finance.

Jody joined Hartley Financial after 34 years working with ANZ, 32 of which were in the Lending field.
Jody has previously worked as a Home & Investment Lending Manager and Lending Support Manager, where she developed a strong knowledge of all aspects of Home Lending. During this time, Jody has been assisting clients with their Business and Personal needs and finding suitable lending solutions to meet their financial objectives.

Nick has been involved in the accounting side of our business for many years. Steven Amorello Senior Tax Accountant
Steven heads up our accounting team as a Senior Tax accountant. Steven oversees the operations of our tax team and ensures an efficient operation. Steven has over 15 years’ experience and has gained valuable experience working for various accounting firms across Sydney, before finding his home with us at Hartley Financial.
Steven enjoys helping his clients with a range of accounting and taxation needs. Steven specialises in the preparation of individual and all business-related financial accounts and tax returns. Steven is also able to provide business advice, maintenance and tax planning services. Steven is also a valuable asset for our Financial Advisers due to his extensive experience in the preparation and review of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds and their relative investments.
Steven is a Qualified Accountant and Registered Tax Agent. Steven holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and is an Associate of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

Lisa Maclachlan Senior Accountant
Lisa is also a Senior Accountant within the accounting team, who has a wealth of experience in the Corporate Finance and Accounting sector.
Of Lisa’s 15 years’ experience, 10 of these years were spent with a leading global brand where she developed her expertise in financial accounting, financial management and financial control.
Lisa transitioned to public practice accounting in 2019. Lisa now specialises in tax preparation, including both individual and entity tax returns, Business Activity Statement preparation and lodgments and liaising with the ATO on behalf of our clients.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Business in Finance and Economics, Associate of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), Diploma of Business Marketing. Lisa is Xero Adviser Certified.

Kaye is our Sutherland Office administration specialist. Kaye has had over 10 years’ experience working in client relation roles within the Finance sector, in which she is highly skilled. Kaye’s experience is in the areas of client liaison, office management, administration, and customer resolution.
Kaye’s role involves scheduling appointments (a large job during tax time!), receiving and directing clients, handling office tasks, conducting administration tasks, invoicing, and all other tasks to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
Kaye holds a Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
Nick McMartin Accounting Assistant & Bookkeeper
Nick entered into full time work with us in 2015 and submerged himself into learning everything there is to know about accounting processes. Nick’s role is to look after our clients bookkeeping needs, assist the accountants with their administration needs and teamed with Kaye, ensure the office operates efficiently and smoothly.
Nick’s comprehensive knowledge of accounting systems such as Xero and Quickbooks is like no other, which is a valuable asset to our Accountants and our clients. Nick has a Certificate III in Financial Services and a Certificate IV in Accounting. Nick is also a Certified Xero Adviser, Certified Xero Payroll Advisor and a Certified Quickbooks Advisor.
