Steven heads up our accounting team as a Senior Tax accountant. Steven oversees the operations of our tax team and ensures an efficient operation. Steven has over 15 years’ experience and has gained valuable experience working for various accounting firms across Sydney, before finding his home with us at Hartley Financial.
Steven enjoys helping his clients with a range of accounting and taxation needs. Steven specialises in the preparation of individual and all business-related financial accounts and tax returns. Steven is also able to provide business advice, maintenance and tax planning services. Steven is also a valuable asset for our Financial Advisers due to his extensive experience in the preparation and review of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds and their relative investments.
Steven is a Qualified Accountant and Registered Tax Agent. Steven holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and is an Associate of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Lisa Maclachlan
Senior Accountant
Lisa is also a Senior Accountant within the accounting team, who has a wealth of experience in the Corporate Finance and Accounting sector.
Of Lisa’s 15 years’ experience, 10 of these years were spent with a leading global brand where she developed her expertise in financial accounting, financial management and financial control.
Lisa transitioned to public practice accounting in 2019. Lisa now specialises in tax preparation, including both individual and entity tax returns, Business Activity Statement preparation and lodgments and liaising with the ATO on behalf of our clients.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Business in Finance and Economics, Associate of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), Diploma of Business Marketing. Lisa is Xero Adviser Certified.
Lisa is able to offer our clients quality support when meeting their taxation and accounting needs.

Kaye Gillum
Client Services & Administration Specialist
Kaye is our Sutherland Office administration specialist. Kaye has had over 10 years’ experience working in client relation roles within the Finance sector, in which she is highly skilled. Kaye’s experience is in the areas of client liaison, office management, administration, and customer resolution.
Kaye’s role involves scheduling appointments (a large job during tax time!), receiving and directing clients, handling office tasks, conducting administration tasks, invoicing, and all other tasks to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
Kaye holds a Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
Nick McMartin
Accounting Assistant & Bookkeeper
Nick entered into full time work with us in 2015 and submerged himself into learning everything there is to know about accounting processes. Nick’s role is to look after our clients bookkeeping needs, assist the accountants with their administration needs and teamed with Kaye, ensure the office operates efficiently and smoothly.
Nick’s comprehensive knowledge of accounting systems such as Xero and Quickbooks is like no other, which is a valuable asset to our Accountants and our clients. Nick has a Certificate III in Financial Services and Certificate IV in Accounting. Nick is also a Certified Xero Adviser, Certified Xero Payroll Advisor and a Certified Quickbooks Advisor.
